There should be an unofficial law, similar to the Murphy’s Law, which states: Before Microsoft ships out a new Windows OS, your laptop should die. With this new law, you would have a valid reason to purchase a new laptop pre-installed with Windows 8. In other cases, maybe you’re not too keen on purchasing a new laptop; perhaps you’re unable to afford it? Or maybe you may have some sentimental attachment to your existing laptop? Whatever the case, you want to make sure that you are able to run Windows 8 successfully on it, without encountering any disappointing performance and or compatibility issues.
Though, if you are planning an upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8, expect things to go smoothly. That’s because Microsoft has said that upgrading from Windows 7 to 8 should be trouble free without any hardware compatibility issues.
Experts say that before you go ahead and upgrade to Windows 8, make sure you save all your hardware drivers, as there’s a good chance for losing them, especially if you are upgrading from XP/Vista to Windows 8.
